Lords by the people

In an historic move, the British House of Commons (elected by the people) have voted that the House of Lords should also be elected by the people.

It is about time that this anachronism which allows a minority of people, by virtue of their privileged birth, to become unelected legislators ended.

How can the United Kingdom be democratic when the upper chamber is wholly unelected?

Perhaps they will also move on to that other anachronistic institution, the head of state. There must be plenty of British people who are also well qualified for this job.

Today was another do nothing day, except doing some errands at the mall.
